Good news for healthcare in Nigeria: the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has
officially partnered with Medbury Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Medbury Healthcare Group.
The partnership, unveiled at the hospital’s Pharmacy Department, is designed to solve a critical challenge: ensuring that patients always have access to the medicines they need. This milestone was also featured in Vanguard News.

Why It Matters

Speaking at the launch, Mrs. Olubola Ogunlakin, Head of UCH’s Public-Private Partnership Department, emphasized that the collaboration represents a bold step in delivering consistent, reliable patient care.
Dr. Olukemi Akinbami, Acting Head of the Pharmacy Department, also expressed optimism, saying the improved facility and reliable medication supply will directly impact patient outcomes.

For Medbury Healthcare Group, this partnership reflects an ongoing mission to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system. As Group Managing Director Dr. Itunu Akinware explained:
“Patient welfare is at the heart of everything we do. This partnership is about more than access to medicine, it’s about building trust in the system.”

Looking Ahead

UCH’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, praised the partnership as a
progressive step that will enhance both patient care and staff welfare.
For patients, this means one simple thing: better access, less waiting, and a more reliable
experience at Nigeria’s leading teaching hospital.
